The U.S. Department of Education has funded 21 Comprehensive Centers.
The MACC is one of 16 Regional Comprehensive Centers providing frontline assistance to help state departments of education within defined geographic boundaries advance the goals of NCLB.
In addition, 5 Content Comprehensive Centers, which are national in scope, work closely with the regional comprehensive centers to provide expertise and assistance on key improvement issues: assessment and accountability; high schools; instruction; school improvement, school choice, and supplemental educational services (SES); and teacher quality.
